Welcome to a new school Year. I am a native of Alice, Texas.
Graduated from Alice High School in 1980. Attended Texas A & I University in Kingsville. Graduated with a Bachlor's Degree in Elementary Eduacation with a Specialization in Fine Arts. I have been employed with the Alice Independent School District for 23 years. I have taught at Noonan Elementary School in all content areas in grades 3-5. I have also taught E.P.S.F. in K-2, and Chapter One in grades 2-5. I am currently at Dubose Intermediate and have been here for eleven years. I have taught one year sixth grade Science and Eleven years sixth grade Mathematics. I am married and have 2 children.

Hello! I am Mrs. Sonia Carbajal and I am a Fifth grade Reading/Language Arts teacher at Dubose Intermediate School.
I graduated from Benavides High School in 1994 and from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2004. This is my 4th year teaching and it's been a joy being a part of a child's educational experience.
I have been happily married to my husband, JoDan, for 15 years. I have been blessed with two wonderful children: Lindsey, 14, who is in 9th grade at Alice High School and Ty, 7, who is in 2nd grade at Schallert Elementary.
My hobbies include spending quality time with my family, reading and shopping.

I am very excited to be here at Dubose Intermediate School. I am originally from San Diego, Texas. I graduated from San Diego High School in 1987. I also attended Texas A&I University where I recieved my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Minor in Spanish. I continued my education at Pan Am University in Edinburg, Texas where I recieved my teaching certificate. I have been teaching for seventeen years and have enjoyed every experience. I look forward to a wonderful year at Dubuse Intermediate.

Although I was born and raised in Alice, I have lived, worked and taught in Louisiana and Tennessee.
Seeing as much of the world as I can is my goal in life. I have traveled to over 25 countries in Europe, North America and Asia. My Bachelor's degree is in History with a Master's degree in Education. Helping students understand the history of their country and improve reading/writing skills is my goal at Dubose.

I was born in Corpus Christi, TX and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Music. I have played the viola 13 years and enjoy playing in big and small ensembles. This is my first year teaching and I am very excited about working with the 5th graders at Dubose Intermediate!!

In 1988, I graduated from Bryan Adams H.S. in Dallas, TX. I attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX and graduated with a degree in Social Work. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a social worker specializing in children's mental health. I absolutely enjoy being a teacher!

I was born and raised in Alice, Texas. I graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville with my Bachelors in Psychology and Sociology and a Masters in Psychology. I worked in the social services field for awhile before considering teaching. Most recently I taught GED classes for four years.
